Terms of Service

By accessing or using picki (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users, including guests, registered users, and beta participants.

picki is a restaurant recommendation tool that helps users decide where to eat based on their cravings, location, and personal taste profile. The Service is currently in limited beta and available to invited users only.

You may use picki as a guest or create an account. When creating an account you agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. picki is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.

You may submit ratings, reviews, and feedback (“User Content”) through the Service. By submitting User Content you grant picki a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content to improve the Service and for other users.

You represent that you own or have the right to submit all User Content, and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Transmit spam, malware, or other harmful code

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of picki and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

The Service may integrate with third-party providers (e.g., Google Maps, Google Places, Firebase). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. picki is not responsible for third-party content or services.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that restaurant data will be accurate or up to date.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, picki shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or revenue.

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page in the app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Some anonymised aggregate data may be retained for service improvement.

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
